I always always always feel manipulated by Phoenix, because it is almost as if they have come up with their music in a lab using elements from everything I have liked in the past to design a sound that is completely familiar yet undeniably appealing to me, but then I have to forgive them because their music sounds completely familiar yet undeniably appealing to me and the closer I get to death the less interested I am in struggling to appreciate anything new and unusual when there is so much I am already comfortable with out there.
