Reliable New Polling Shows 48% of Americans Favor the Tea Party

'But I don't want to go among mad people,' Alice remarked.

It might seem like the self-destructive mob known as the Tea Party was a brief living nightmare from 2010 that was handily smacked back into its grave by Barack Obama’s epic 2012 re-election win, which also saw Democrats again winning the Senate with a two-seat gain and the House GOP majority losing eight seats. Democrats actually won 1.4 million votes more than Republicans in the House, the first time since 1996 that the GOP held the House while losing the vote count.

But this is the kind of talk that has long distanced liberal media elitists from the Tea Party faithful. While the straggling and embarrassing remains of the Tea Party movement did manage to help Mitt Romney suffer a more humiliating loss thanks to his TP-endorsed fringe-right extremist and marathon liar Paul Ryan, the Tea Party is also the most popular political movement in America, according to this Tea Party press release:

WASHINGTON D.C. — The nation’s largest tea party organization commissioned an independent poll to determine whether a national sample of Americans prefer tea party principles of limited government to liberal and progressive policies. 48 percent of those surveyed declared support for “tea party principles” of “limited government,” “free markets” and “personal responsibility” over 21 percent “progressive, liberal principles” of “big government,” “higher taxes,” and “more spending.”

It would be interesting to see the questions that led to this polling victory, but not interesting enough to seek out the methodology. The important thing is that a website called TheTeaParty.net claims to have found a polling office in Utah that claims to have found exactly 240 people who agreed with “Tea Party principles,” if not the actual dead political mob movement. Onward to 2014!
