Joe Namath Is 70

It’s rare that you can say someone is “only 70,” but Joe Namath was born on this day in 1943 and it feels appropriate to apply that qualifier to his age, probably because it seems as if the Super Bowl he won happened like 70 years ago itself and we’ve somehow been hearing about it since the time of the steam engine. Anyway, happy birthday, Joe. 70 years from now we will still be talking about you as the quarterback who brought the Jets their championship.
