The Polyphonic Spree, "You Don't Know Me"

In the disturbing tradition of Babies in Makeup and the cover of that Afghan Whigs record comes the new video from The Polyphonic Spree. (This song should not be confused with Ben Folds’ “You Don’t Know Me,” which is one of the greatest songs of the last ten years and so criminally underrated that it caused me to lose all faith in the faculties of our cultural tastemakers, but I guess that is a discussion for a different day.) No matter how hard I try and still can’t not smile at “Light and Day,” so I guess I will always cut these guys some slack, because I do not normally find it all that difficult to frown.
