Already, both California and Texas, as well as some states on the Mexico side of the border, have unusually high rates of drug-resistant TB.” And just last week, health officials warned that “deadly infections with bacteria that resist even the strongest antibiotics are on the rise in hospitals in the United States, and there is only a ‘limited window of opportunity’ to halt their spread.”
