Flann O'Brien at 100

Today marks the centenary of Brian O’Nolan, also known as Flann O’Brien and Myles na gCopaleen. (I read him first as O’Brien, so that’s what I’ll stick with.) O’Brien may very well be one of the ten funniest writers of the 20th century; he was certainly one of its most tolerable postmodernists. If you haven’t read him, start with the novels (particularly At Swim-Two-Birds and The Third Policeman) and then try the columns. You will really be glad you did.
